EmDR Intensives

EMDR Intensives

EMDR Intensives in Philadelphia & the Main Line

Some work needs more space than a 50-90minute session allows.

We began offering EMDR intensives after noticing something important: life can move quickly, and often the impact of stress, trauma, or difficult experiences builds faster than the space we have to process it in weekly therapy.

Even in strong, consistent therapy, it can feel like you are holding a lot in between sessions—waiting to return to the work.

EMDR intensives are designed to change that.

They create dedicated, uninterrupted time to focus deeply, allowing you to move through what’s been holding you in place—rather than circling it over time.

We offer EMDR intensives in Malvern and Ardmore, Pennsylvania, serving clients across the Philadelphia Main Line, Chester County, Montgomery County, and surrounding areas.

What Is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR intensive is an extended trauma therapy session (typically 3–6 hours) using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—a highly effective, evidence-based approach for treating trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences.

Unlike traditional weekly therapy, EMDR intensives allow us to:

  • Stay with the process without interruption

  • Fully access and process core memories

  • Reduce the stop-and-start nature of weekly sessions

  • Support deeper and more complete resolution

  • This format is ideal for individuals seeking accelerated trauma therapy in Philadelphia and the Main Line.

Who This Is For

EMDR intensives may be a strong fit if you are:

  • Feeling stuck in therapy despite ongoing work

  • Looking for EMDR intensives near Philadelphia or the Main Line

  • Traveling from out of state to see specialists in treating PTSD, Complex PTSD, and Trauma

  • Wanting to focus on a specific trauma or distressing experience

  • Experiencing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or unresolved past events

  • Limited by time and unable to attend weekly sessions consistently

  • Seeking a more private, focused therapy format

  • We work with clients from Malvern, Ardmore, West Chester, King of Prussia, and greater Philadelphia, as well as individuals traveling in for intensive therapy.

What the Process Looks Like

Each EMDR intensive is thoughtfully structured to support both depth and stability.

  • Preparation Phase

  • We begin with intake and preparation sessions to assess readiness, clarify goals, and ensure you feel grounded before the intensive.

  • Intensive Sessions (3–6 Hours)

  • Your session includes extended EMDR processing with breaks built in. The pace is collaborative and guided by your nervous system.

  • Integration & Follow-Up

  • Post-intensive sessions help consolidate progress, support emotional regulation, and integrate changes into daily life.

Investment

Initial Intake and Treatment Planning:

  • 90 Minute Initial Intake, Planning, and Preparation : $400

  • 3-Hour EMDR Intensive: $1,000

  • 5-Hour EMDR Intensive: $1,450

  • Custom and multi-day trauma therapy intensives are available.

  • Please note: EMDR intensives are not typically covered by insurance.

Why Choose EMDR Intensives?

In weekly therapy, time is often spent reconnecting to where you left off. With an EMDR intensive, we remain in the work long enough for meaningful processing to occur.

This allows for:

  • Faster access to underlying experiences

  • More efficient trauma processing

  • Greater sense of resolution and relief

  • Many clients seeking EMDR intensives in Philadelphia or the Main Line choose this format when they are ready for deeper, more focused work.

A Thoughtful, Individual Approach

EMDR intensives are not appropriate for every situation. We carefully assess whether this format is the right fit based on your history, current stability, and goals.

Our approach is grounded, collaborative, and paced with close attention to your capacity.
