Hi, I’m Nicholas.
I am Nicholas Harris, LAPC, a psychotherapist working with clients in person and virtually in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. I am a graduate of Temple University’s counseling psychology master’s program, which emphasizes multicultural psychology and trauma-informed care.
I am passionate about supporting adult clients looking to make meaningful changes in their lives. This includes exploring how traumatic experiences from the past influence the present, which can often negatively impact relationships, careers, and self-esteem. Our time together is always focused on your goals and my role is to support you through collaboration, understanding and compassion.
I draw from several different therapeutic approaches depending on what best suits clients' unique needs. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is an experiential, attachment-based therapy approach. I also draw from psychodynamics and existential psychotherapy to assist clients in identifying patterns, fostering growth, and finding meaning.
As an attachment-based therapist, my work with individuals and couples/relationships is driven by humans’ natural tendency to grow and heal through connection with others. Clients often experience disconnection from others as a response to trauma, depression, relationship issues, and anxiety. Through therapeutic approaches like existential psychotherapy, psychodynamics, EFT and EMDR, I aid clients in reconnecting with themselves, one another and the meaningful people in their lives. I am particularly passionate about men’s mental health and working with artists, musicians or anyone that prioritizes creativity.
Before moving into private practice full-time, I was a primary therapist at the Keystone Center Extended Care Unit, a residential inpatient facility for men struggling with compulsive sexual behavior. During my tenure at the Keystone Center Extended Care Unit, I served as the facility's primary provider of EMDR and gained extensive experience supporting clients with complex trauma histories and process addictions.
We all seek help for different reasons, and often the first step is the hardest. I strive to make therapy a welcoming experience that is free of judgment, while offering the therapeutic challenges necessary for meaningful growth.
If you’d like to see whether we’re a good fit, I offer free 15-minute consultations. Taking that first step takes a lot of bravery, and I would be honored to support you as you navigate the challenging aspects of life.
