PRO-BONO THERAPY FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY RUSSO-UKRAINIAN WAR

In light of horrific and painful current events and the need for trauma competent therapists, the clinical director, Nina Yashin, will be offering crisis services free of charge (up to 5 sessions, and later for a reduced fee if needed), for those impacted by the war. EMDR Recent Traumatic Events protocol will be used.

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN TREATMENT?

It all depends on what brought you into treatment. Some clients come in for a few months, while others benefit from longer term therapy. Treatment modalities used, such as EMDR, can also influence length. You and your therapist will create a treatment plan, evaluate your progress, and work collaboratively to ensure that goals are being met.

IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?

It is absolutely paramount that there is trust between therapist and client. We never share information without explicit written consent. That being said, as mandated reporters, we are legally required to contact the appropriate emergency services should a situation arise where a client potentially presents a danger to themselves or others, or if a minor or an elder is being harmed.

DO YOU OFFER in person as well as TELEHEALTH/VIDEO SESSIONS?

We offer both in person and Telehealth sessions. In person sessions occur in our Haverford PA office. We serve the Main Line Philadelphia and Greater Philadelphia area at this location. All of our virtual therapy sessions are taking place via telehealth on a HIPPA compliant platform.

WHAT IS EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidence based therapy (meaning that there have been research studies that measurably show effectiveness). It is a psychotherapy technique that helps people heal from symptoms and emotional distress which is a result of disturbing life experiences. Many clients report improvement after just a few sessions.

CAN WE DO EMDR VIA TELEHEALTH?

Absolutely. During the start of the pandemic we had to think long and hard on how to best implement EMDR via telehealth since it is such an integral part of our practice. Our practice of EMDR via teleheath is extremely streamlined, and looks almost as it would if we were meeting in person! There are multiple options including an EMDR virtual platform that can be used. Our clients love getting all of the benefits while being in the comfort of their home.

Where Are you Located?

Our address is 3550 Darby Road, Haverford, PA, 19041. We are conveniently located on the Main Line, easily accessible from Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Chester County. Our central location also makes us located within 5-20 minutes of local colleges and universities including Haverford College, Bryn Mawr College, Villanova University, St. Josephs University, Swarthmore College, Cabrini University, and Rosemont College.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

We do not accept insurance. We are an out-of-network provider. We can, however, provide you with all documentation necessary so that you can get reimbursed directly from your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits it is a fairly streamlined process. We can walk you through the process in more detail and guide you on which questions to ask your insurance company during your initial consultation call.

HOW LONG WILL OUR SESSIONS BE?

Sessions are either 50 minutes or 90 minutes in duration. The length will be determined in advance. In specific situations the therapeutic process can benefit from longer sessions, such as an EMDR processing session.
