Hi, I’m Rachael.

EMDR Trauma Therapy Haverford Main Line PA addiction treatment

My name is Rachael Livingston and I am a trauma informed licensed professional counselor (LPC) within the state of Pennsylvania. I offer specialized care in the treatment of trauma, addiction related concerns, and women’s mental health needs. I hold certifications as an EMDRIA certified therapist, a certified clinical trauma professional level 2 (CCTP-II), a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC), and a women’s mental health specialist. I also offer support for other common challenges such as grief and loss, anxiety, relationship/attachment concerns, life transitions, perinatal concerns, and struggles with self-esteem/identity. I am a passionate ally to LGBTQIA+ individuals, the BIPOC community, women, and others who have been impacted by systemic oppression. I am committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to guide those who may be struggling to feel seen, validated, or understood in their healing journeys

It is my belief that treatment is a collaborative process and I work to focus on the unique strengths and needs of each individual. As a result, my approach to therapy is individualized and draws from various modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). In addition to these modalities I incorporate expressive arts and body oriented approaches, such as sensorimotor and somatic techniques, into sessions.

In addition to treating single incident, childhood, and intergenerational trauma, I am experienced in and passionate about supporting others through community based and secondary trauma experiences. This includes offering mental health first aid and disaster relief for communities, first responders, and mental health/medical providers. My experience in the mental health and substance abuse fields includes care provided in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment centers such as the Caron Foundation, outpatient facilities, community-care, and school-based environments.. This makes me uniquely positioned to work comfortably with a diverse population of clients. I received my Master’s degree in clinical psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2017 and maintain continuing education as well as consultation in order to stay informed, up to date on various therapeutic techniques, and to provide the best care possible to my clients.

When I have free time, I love to fill it with things like crafting, listening to music, or practicing yoga. My favorite way to pass time is to connect with nature by exploring trails, taking photos, kayaking, or simply being outside.

I would love to help you get started on your journey of healing, self exploration, and trauma recovery. If you are ready to take those first steps, contact me to schedule your free initial 15 minute phone consultation, and we can discuss what working together will look like.
