Hi, I’m SAM.

My name is Sam Tavlin (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with specific training in helping individuals who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma. I often work with those who are looking to reclaim or strengthen their relationship with themself and others.

I believe that working collaboratively is the best way to find solutions that will help you heal, find joy, and make the changes you want in your life. I always look forward to hearing what my clients have to say, so I welcome humor, creativity, and whichever parts of yourself you’d like to share.

I offer EMDR therapy, individual therapy, couples therapy, art therapy, and trauma-specific therapy – both virtually and in our Center City Philadelphia location. And because it’s important to me that you find a therapist who is the right fit for you, I will always be transparent about who I am as a therapist and person so that you can decide if I am a good fit.

I received my master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Drexel University in 2018 and engage in ongoing training and consultation to ensure I am always offering my best as a therapist. In addition to my practice, I coordinate a community-based mental health research study in CHOP’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Please see more on my research here:

I spend the rest of my time with friends and family. I love comedy, playing softball, writing, art, and watching the New York Mets.

If you have questions for me or would like to discuss getting started, I’d be happy to have a free consult call with you.
